Analy Theatre Program
Welcome to Analy’s Award winning Theatre Arts Department, famous for its track record of challenging and hugely successful performances, presenting at least two major, well-publicized productions per year, as well as monologues and scenes from the Acting Class, and IMPROV nights. The department regularly participates in: The Lenaea Festival, now called Bob Smart Theatre Festival, held annually in Sacramento; attends the Ashland Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the Spring, and regularly works with guest artists. This last year the department was nominated by Leslie McCauley of Santa Rosa Junior College’s Theatre Dept. and selected by the American High School Theatre Festival to perform at the FRINGE Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is a great honor for the department! Although we will not be attending this year, we keep open the possibility of applying again in the future.

HELP THE ANALY THEATRE ARTS STUDENTS GET TO ASHLAND FOR A 6 DAY EDUCATIONAL TRIP OF WORKSHOPS AND SEEING THE AMAZING OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL PLAYS!! THERE WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO DONATE TO THIS EVENT AT OUR PRODUCTION.
This Fall we produced and performed Dead Man Walking which is Nationally performed.
Our Benefit Performance for Dead Man Walking raised $350 for Get On The Bus which they were very happy to receive. We wished we could have raised more…but Alayna Johnson, the California Coordinator and her assistant Rahkii Ashann Holman came to the performance. We had wished to raise more $$ for them but they were grateful to have been the recipients and we were happy to have met them – what a great service they provide!! Check out their video on youtube!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3p7xiQAbTM

The Panel Discussion on the 20th was a great success! Each panelist brought interesting and informative materials to the table discussion. We thank all the participants – Chief Jeff Weaver – SPD, Barbara Bloom – SSU, Diana Gomez – DA’s Office, Avalon Daly and Grayson Dimick – Rhetoric students.
Many Analy students came to see the school performance on Tuesday Nov. 22nd during the school day. We thank all that participated – you were a good audience! Thank you to the Analy staff and administration for supporting this very important project! We received a personalized letter from Sr. Helen Prejean, who was unable to attend, via the National Coordinator Greg Callaghan, who came on the 20th and stayed through the Panel Discussion and was very complimentary of our production. We were honored by his presence! Thank you, Greg!!
And thank you to the community for support Analy Arts Theatre Dept.!!
