1st League Debate to be Held at Analy
Saturday Oct 11th!
ALL team members are required to attend this event--either suited up as
a debater or sporting a blue team shirt as part of the slave labor
force that feeds and cleans up after the 500+ debaters that will
descend on the Analy campus. Debaters should arrive by 8:20am and
check in with team captains in the cafeteria. Helpers should check in
with the taskmaster in the library at their designated time.
Parent and alumni judges should be in the library by 8:30am to
caffeinate themselves and receive judging instructions. Let's
make the most of this home-turf advantage!
Don’t Miss Your Opportunity
to sign up for this year’s VFW speech contest—For the past 4 years the top Analy student has advanced to the state competition and taken home thousands of dollars. Come to a Tuesday lunch meeting for more details about this year's topic. School contest to be held Thursday, October 16 after school in room 210.
Debate Practice Begins September 4th!
September 4th, marks the first of the regular Thursday night practices for the year. Practices are held from 7-9pm in room 210. Novices will learn the basics of argument construction; returning LDers will brainstorm on the new topic; and parli teams will divvy up the burden of brief construction. ALL debaters should plan to attend the September practices to lay the foundation for another successful year!

Analy Debate is FIRST in the State!
The Analy Debate team was declared the first place winners among
division
"A" schools at the State Championships at Santa Clara University on
April 20th.
Congratulations to the debaters who made this historic achievement possible, in particular: Autumn Burnes, Chris Catterton, Kyla Coulter, Harrison Noah, Michael Millerick and Sam Stafford who each placed among the top 5 in Parliamentary Debate, capturing the sweepstakes points necessary to bring the 1st place honor to Analy.
