11/19 NCS Championships in Hayward – We just completed a great day at the NCS Championships in Hayward where our runners successfully came back from the SCL meet two weeks ago and ran great times on a cool, though sunny day. Molly Foster and Rita Purcell were followed by excellent races by Emily Mathews (new PR), Gabriel, Brianna and Pauline to lead the girls to a 14th place finish overall, quite an improvement from last year. Similarly, the boys lead by Dante Capone and Dawson Bell followed by Blake Jamar (new PR), Jake Gibbs, Jack and Ben Stafford moved Analy to a 18th place finish, again a substantial improvement from last year. While Gabriel, Dawson and Ben are all seniors, the four remaining boys are all freshmen who ranked 7,9,11 & 15th among other freshmen at the meet! As we continue building, we look forward to a great future with our returning runners next XC season.
11/5 SCL Championships at Spring Lake (View the complete results) – Though a bit chilly and missing several of our runners due to illness, or other events, we managed to see some great improvements in times at Spring Lake this morning. Overall, our undefeated JV girls team placed second to Casa, so share the JV Girls conference title. I have ribbons for all seven girls who were lead by Pauline who medaled in 6th and I have metals for Sarah D. and Maddy as well. JV boys also short a few runners pulled out 3rd place finish with a remarkable time by Jack PH who medaled followed by Aidan and Ben G. Varsity Girls were lead by Molly who medaled and acheived all-league status with an excellent time followed by Rita. The Varsity Boys were lead by Dante and Dawson who posted fantastic times. With this meet, we start preparing the varsity runners for NCS in Hayward on 11/19; these will include Dante, Dawson, Jake, Blake, Ben S. and Jack for the boys and my steady five girls of Gabrielle, Molly, Emily, Brianna and Rita with a slot for Pauline as well.
10/26 Analy and Petaluma at Ragle Park (View the complete results) – We had our last SCL meet today and Analy struggled against a strong Petaluma team. Analy’s varsity boys, were led by Dante Capone in 4th followed by seniors Dawson Bell and Ben Stafford in 6th and 7th, respectively. Similarly, in varsity girls, Molly Foster led the way placing 3rd followed by Brianna Smith and Rita Purcell and 5th & 6th, respectively. Our large group of JV boys were led by Aidan Reyes and Jack Petsod-Hixson in 3rd and 4th, followed by Riley Harden and Ben Grismer placing 6th and 7th, respectively. Again our undefeated JV girls dominated the field with Pauline Allen, Monica Cropsey , Sarah Diamond and Sara Fujii taking the top four positions.
10/12 Analy and Healdsburg at Ragle Park (View the complete results) – We had our second SCL meet today. Analy dominated the boys and girls JV with Riley Harden, Jack Petsod-Hixson and Ben Grismer leading the boys in 1st, 2nd & 3rd while similarly, the JV girls were lead by Pauline Allen, Sarah Diamond and Avalon Daly in the top three places. In a very close contest in Varsity Boys, Healdsburg won 27 to 28. Analy was lead by freshman Dante Capone in 2nd, Ben Stafford in 5th and Blake Jamar in 6th. In varsity girls, veterans Molly Foster, Rita Purcell and Brianna Smith lead the way placing 1st, 3rd & 4th, respectively, such that the Analy girls won by a score of 19 to 36.
10/5 Analy and Windsor at Casa Grande – First SCL meet, Analy struggled with a partial team in varsity against strong Windsor and Casa Grande teams. Three rapidly improving freshman lead our Varsity Boys – Jake Gibbs, Dante Capone and Blake Jamar placing 12, 16 & 17th respectively. Varsity Girls – veterans Rita Purcell and Molly Foster lead the way placing 7 & 8th with Gabriel Sheder-Bieschen placing 11th. Our large group of JV Boys were lead by Jack Petsod-Hixson placing 6th. The JV Girls dominated the field with Avalon Daly taking first followed by Rena Perry and Maddie Hummel at 3rd & 4th, respectively, and Beverly Cotter at 7th.
