Pre-requisites:
Students coming to this course from eighth grade must place into Geometry
based on District guidelines developed in 1999-2000. They should have
the recommendation of the eighth grade teacher for this course, and

The Geometry A course is set up to meet the needs of
students (grades 9-10) with demonstrated talent in mathematics coming
out of Algebra 1 (with teacher recommendation), and of ninth graders
who do exceedingly well in Algebra 1. Geometry A is an accelerated course
with more difficult problems than geometry. It is faster paced and incorporates
supplemental topics. There is not an additional grade point awarded
in this class, and students should be warned that excellent grades are
difficult to achieve in this course.
