This final year of English presents a wide range of
reading and writing experiences. British literature and selected American
pieces will be the literary focus. Works studied will include: Beowolf,
The Canterbury Tales, Macbeth, Frankenstein, Heart of Darkness, and
Catcher in the Rye. Students will write literary papers, placement essays,
and a synthesis research paper on a postmodern work of literature. Grammar
and mechanics will be emphasized in the context of paper revision.
